Self-confidence is how you feel about yourself and express yourself. Not everyone is born with a sense of self-confidence, and sometimes self-confidence can be worn down and needs to be built back up. What are some actions of confident people?

  • Able to accept compliments

    It can be difficult at first to accept yourself and build yourself up, but practice makes perfect. Start with some simple mantras (listed below), and begin being mindful about your thought processes. Over time, your self-confidence will grow, and you’ll take notice of your new and improved self.

    Start using positive mantras to evolve your thinking. You may not truly believe them at first, but over time, you will start to accept the mantras and make them part of your new self-confidence building lifestyle! Here are a few of our favorites:

    Have Compassion For Yourself

    In our society and culture, it is so easy to use hateful language towards ourselves. Are you a victim of holding yourself to an unattainable standard? It’s time to start going easy on yourself. You are human- you are resilient. You are going to make mistakes. When you accept this about yourself, life becomes a whole lot easier.

    List Your Accomplishments

    When you begin to doubt yourself, think back on all of your accomplishments, no matter how small. Often, people define “accomplishments” by big awards or achievements, but don’t forget to count the little wins as well. Think about how much work it took to get to where you are today, how many obstacles you had to overcome. It is truly amazing how well you’ve done, how strong you are! Keep these accomplishments in mind and your self-confidence will strengthen.

    Let Go of Negativity

    It is so easy to focus on the bad events in your life. We are all guilty of focusing on the negative. However, it is proven that self-confidence is better built through positive thinking. When experiencing a negative situation, think of ways to reframe the situation to make it more positive. Remove any negative thoughts from your life. Do you have any friends who are constantly negative? It’s time to take stock of your closest company and ask yourself if they are allowing you to be the most confident person that you can be.

    Escape The Comfort Zone

    Change is hard for everyone, and it is beyond easy to settle into our old habits and practices. In order to grow, however, you need to push yourself out of your comfort zone! When you successfully do this, you’ll have a feeling of accomplishment and will be energized enough to make even more positive changes.
